COVID-19 UPDATE

Dream Big is thoroughly committed to the safety and health of our students and teaching artists. In fact, the well-being of our community is always our number one priority. The Covid-19 crisis has increased this priority more than we could have ever imagined.

Dream Big will adhere to all city and CDC health guidelines and has completed the Be Safe Chicago certification.  We are prepared to conduct in person activities with safety precautions in place.

These precautions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Nine or fewer students per class
  • Temperature taken of each person entering the facility with a touch free thermometer
  • Frequent hand washing
  • Cleaning and sanitizing classrooms before and after each gathering
  • Appropriate social distancing during all activities
  • Face masks worn by all Dream Big team members and by anyone in common areas
  • Teaching Artist training in current restrictions and guidelines

Dream Big will provide each camper with their own Dream Big face mask.*

(*For Andersonville Location Only)

Should in-person camps be canceled, you can apply your previously paid tuition as credit toward any Dream Big virtual camp, including a new two-week intensive camp, themed weekly virtual camps, or virtual drop-in classes. Alternatively, tuition can be applied to future after school programs or camps in the 2020-2021 year. (Tuition credit cannot be used toward our collaborative camp, ‘Together We Camp,’ as these camps include classes and content from other organizations.)

At the end of each camp week, campers present a final showcase of scenes, songs, stories, games, and activities generated throughout their ensemble-building experience. Family and friends are invited to join us for an informal performance usually during the final 20-30 minutes of camp on our last day. Reminder invitations with exact times are emailed and sent home every Wednesday.

Daily Camp Reminders

Please have your child bring a water bottle and snack to camp each day. If your child is staying for the full day, please also bring a packed lunch and extra snack.  Because we have several campers with allergies, Dream Big has a strict NO NUT Policy.  The sharing of food is also discouraged.

Doors open 10 minutes prior to your camp start time. If you are running late, please contact your child’s teacher at the number provided in your confirmation email so they can let you in.
