Stories and Showtunes

Love stories, singing and dancing? In this class, stories and songs inspire creativity, dramatic
play and, of course, DANCE! In addition to fun drama games, students will explore the joy of musical theater classics and storybook favorites. We will read and act out stories with minimal props and unlimited imagination! We will also have lots of fun playing drama games that center around our stories’ themes and have fun singing and dancing to some of our favorite show tunes. This class builds reading comprehension skills as well as fosters creativity, self-expression and teamwork. An informal performance will culminate this ensemble-building experience.

Broadway Kids featuring songs from Descendants

If you love musical theatre, this class is for you! “Be our guest” as we explore the foundations of theatre with fun drama games, acting, improvisation, music, and movement. In this unique class format, students will collaborate to create their very own play using their favorite songs from the hit movie ‘Descendants” as a jumping off point. We’ll be “Rotten to the Core” as we improvise a script and students will decide if they want to showcase their own version of the Descendants' story or create their own Descendants-themed musical! Whichever they choose, it promises to be a wickedly good time!

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is a high flying musical adventure that will take you on a fantastical
journey in a magical car. Let’s create and explore imaginative landscapes together while
rehearsing and performing song favorites from this beloved classic. Students enrolled in the
spring session of Broadway Kids will receive an exclusive invitation to perform with Dream Big
on the Summerdale Stage during the Andersonville Midsommerfest on June 8th and 9th as well
as a free ticket to see our full-scale summer camp production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang on the

Students will choose, rehearse & perform their favorite tracks from both the hit soundtracks such as ‘Defying Gravity’ & ‘Wait for it’, along with writing & creating scenes for their very own Hamilton/ Wicked Mash Up! An original musical performance will culminate this ensemble building experience.

Broadway Bound featuring Wicked

Get ready to defy gravity at our wonderfully wicked after school class! Through exciting theatre games that build improvisation skills, foster creativity, and focus on teamwork, students will work alongside one of our professional teaching artists to create their very own mini-musical adaptation of Broadway's smash hit, Wicked.  Students will learn music and movement to songs such as “Popular," “Dancing Through Life,” and “Defying Gravity,” and present their work to family and friends at the end of the session. It’s going to be WICKED!

In this unique class format, students will collaborate to create their very own play using their favorite songs from the hit movie ‘Descendants” as a jumping off point. We’ll be “Rotten to the Core” as we improvise a script and students will decide if they want to showcase their own version of the Descendants' story or create their own Descendants-themed musical! Whichever they choose, it promises to be a wickedly good time!

The magic of dia de los Muertos inspires us as we collaborate to create our very own musical using the music and themes from Disney’s Coco and Dreamwork’s Book of Life. If you love musical theater, this class is for you! In this unique class format, the fundamentals of theatre (acting, improvisation, music, movement, and drama games) are explored to create an improvised script that transforms into a cohesive story. The songs from Coco and Book of Life support the student’s original storyline to make a dia de los Muertos’ musical of their own! The session culminates in a one-of-a-kind performance for family and friends.

Does your child like to rock out to their favorite songs while playing air guitar or dancing around the living room? Do they have star power? If so, then Broadway Kids Rock is the class for them! In this class, we will become all 'round rock stars while we create our own Rock musical using popular songs from shows such as School of Rock, Rock of Ages, School House Rock, and many more. Family and friends are invited to join us for a final performance of head banging fun!
